Set up your blog

After you log in, you will come to the Dashboard screen where you can set up, configure and monitor your blog.

User information and password changing:

a.After you have a new blog, set up your personal information and change your password. Click Users in the top of the right side, you will see the page allows you to manage your users like this:

b.Click Your Profile to set up your information.
c.Go all the way to the bottom; you can change your password there. Just input your new password. You can use upper and lower case letters (case sensitive) and numbers.

d.Don’t forget to click Update Profile button after you done.

2. Set up for Plugins . Note, plugins are small services or holders of images or text that are available on every page of your blog.

a.Click the Plugins at the top near Users. You will see a list of plugins the server provides for you. You can activate any plugins you would like to use by clicking Activate in the right side.

b.For each new blog, you should activate three basic plugins in the very beginning: WP-SpamFree, wpPHPMailer and WP Security Scan.

c.The WP Security Scan and WP-SpamFree start functioning after you active them. wpPHPMailer is for the E-mail function for your blog. We will talk about it later in another section: How to use Email?

Set up basic sittings for your blog:

Select Settings on the top of right side. There are many tabs that you can set up for the settings. We only cover the basic setups in two tabs: General and Reading

a. In General tab setup, fill out the Blog title and Tagline title, which is the subtitle for your blog. Don’t forget save your changes by press the Save Changes button

b. In the Reading tab setup, select Your latest posts if you want your blog display the posts as the homepage. Otherwise, select A static page (select below) if you want your blog display a page as your homepage. Press Save changes button to save your changes.

Now you have the basic setup for your blog. You can start bloging.
