Comment Icon0 The Rose Melnick Medical Museum houses approximately 10,000 items that chronicle the history and practice of medicine, dentistry, nursing, and pharmacy from the 1700s to the present. The collections consist of instruments, artifacts, and equipment; rare books, special collections, and archival materials; and microscope slide collections. There is also a small collection of anatomical specimens. The collection focuses on the history and practice of medicine in the United States, with a particular focus on the Mahoning Valley (Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana Counties).

Comment Icon0 The collections are available for research by scholars and researchers from the public. Research opportunities are available by appointment. Please refer to our Research Policies and Procedures before requesting the use of our collections. A selection of materials are also available online in our searchable database using the university’s digital repository software at Digital Collections.
