Many of the databases are available through off campus access.  If the database you are trying to access is on the list provided in the link below, simply click the link to access it.  If not, you can click on the link to authenticate through OhioLink.  You will need your Y number to access these databases. http://www.maag.ysu.edu/offCampus

The MeSh subject headings are a controlled vocabulary that is assigned to medical literature.  When you search for information in Medline or Pubmed, you will find these terms assigned to the articles according to topic of the article.  This resource provides information on how to use the subject ehadings and a was to search the headings terms.

This resource, provided by the National Library of Medicine, allows you to look for organizations that relate to your area of study.  You can use this website to seach for relevant orgniaztions, or simply browse through them by name.

PubMed Central is a subset of PubMed.  It contains journal articles as far back as the late 1800’s.  The information contained is often available in full text.  However, as a YSU student you also have access to a number of these journal subscriptions through our library.  If you ever find something that is not available in full text remember to check our databases as well.

Merlot Health Science Resources

Merlot stands for the Multimedia Education Resource for Learning and Online Teaching.  It provides online tutorials, images, and videos on a variety of health science disciplines.  The menu on the left provides a list of those fields in addition to the search bar which will allow you to search for specific tutorials and information.

Evidence Based Medicine Resource Center

This web site provides information on evidence baseed medicine, one of the newest theories in patient care.  Here you can find information on EBM publications, teaching, searching, and practice.  It also provides links to EBM organizations which can provide valuable professional resources.
